On the morning of August 7th 1998, terror struck Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. Many lost their lives, many lost their loved ones and many, miraculously walked out of the ashes of the Al Qaeda bomb blast. This association brings together all those affected by this terrible tragedy.

The Attack

The explosions targeted the former American Embassy in Nairobi, now the Bomb Blast Memorial Park, and Dar es Salaam, leaving devastation in their wake. Over 200 lives were lost, thousands were injured, and entire neighborhoods were forever altered.

These bombings were not solely physical assaults; they inflicted profound psychological, economic, and emotional harm that rippled through families and communities. In the aftermath, victims have struggled with not only the lasting effects of physical injuries but also the deep emotional trauma of losing loved ones and facing an uncertain future. Despite the immense impact of this tragedy, many survivors have yet to receive the necessary compensation, acknowledgment, and support.
